Our 30+ years of breeding goldens has led us to develop the best curiculum in raising even-tempered, well socialized puppies that will smoothly transition into your home and family. All of our parent dogs are extremely well mannered and have great low-key temperaments. They are an oversized lap dog who also love to chase a ball for hours. A happy, healthy puppy begins with their parents. It is important that our parent dogs are the best examples of what a Golden should be in order to breed the best puppies.
Our dams are given the best care throughout their pregnancy. From exercise to extra nutrition, our parent dogs are well prepared to bring their puppies into the world.
Once puppies are born, we immediately weigh them and add a color collar - which will become the color to identify them until they go to their furever home. We log not only their weight, but also their birth order and coat color.
At 3 days old, we begin Early Nurological Stimulation (ENS) and Early Scent Introduction (ESI). ENS begins by gently handling the puppies, which includes putting the puppies under our chins so they can hear our heart beats. We also gently touch each of their feet, ears, tails, turn on their backs, and hold upside down. This early neurological stimulation and early scent introduction is known to improve cardiovascular performance, stronger heartbeats, stronger adrenal glands, more tolerance to stress, greater resistance to disease, nose awareness, and confidence.
At 3 weeks old, we continue the everyday handling exercises to ensure our puppies are exposed to various types of touch and sensations. This includes eyes, nose, inside mouth, around collar, tummy, down back, pull tail, tug on ears, and tapping nails. We also begin socializing our puppies to different sounds, sights, textures, things to climb on, run through and more. We set them up to conquer physical and mental challenges every day. By doing this we build our puppies nerve strength and confidence, as well as problem solving skills. Our goal is to provide our puppies with a stable and enriching environment for the first 8 weeks of their lives until they go home to their furever home.
At 6-7 weeks of age we conduct a puppy aptitude test on each individual puppy. During this assessment, we focus on several important puppy temperament traits, as well at conduct the puppy happy walk. We give each puppy an individual rating.
Do not use any flea or tick medicine on your puppy or dog.
Some vets recommend a topical ointment or medication…we do NOT recommend either one. Flea medication can cause serious neurological disorders such as epilepsy or seizures. To control flea issues, bathe using Dr. Bronner’s Magic Soap or Dawn liquid dish soap. You may also use rubbing alcohol or coconut oil to spot kill fleas. You may also use Diaromaceous Earth on their bedding and for a dry-brush shampoo.
Each of our puppies are dewormed every 2 weeks beginning at 4 weeks of age. Ask your veterinarian about an aggressive de-worming schedule. They will need to be de-wormed every other week until 12 weeks old, then every month until 6 months old. A routine de-worming is twice a year. This is important for both you and your dog, we recommend that you have your dog tested yearly for worms. In addition, we feed our dogs ground pumpkin seed and canned pumpkin which expels parasites, particularly tape worms.
At 6-7 weeks, the puppies have a vet exam and are given their first set of vaccinations. Once you have your puppy, you must make an appointment with your veterinarian within 72 hours to get them established and schedule their next vaccination.
Our puppies come with AKC pet registration. We do not give breeder rights in order to ensure responsible pet owners.
We guarantee your puppy to be of sound health and temperament at the time of puppy pickup. We guarantee the puppy against fatal viruses for 72 hours - these include Distemper, Parvo, and Corona. It does not include Coccidia and Kennel Cough, which is self-limiting and must run its course with antibiotic treatment and is not life threatening. If you have any concerns or questions at all, please do not hesitate to call us.
We provide a two (2) year health guarantee for life-threatening health issues (valid until the puppy’s SECOND birthday). Failure to have your puppy examined by a vet within three days of the puppy’s delivered/picked up date or if you fail to provide required immunizations and medical treatment will void this health guarantee. Dehydration, Diarrhea, Hypoglycemia, Coccidia, Kennel Cough, Internal and External Parasites, Giardia, Fungal Infections, or any condition that can be corrected by veterinarian treatment and any other preventable conditions are not covered.
